And happy Thursday! It’s time for a new challenge over on the Share Joy Challenge blog today, and this time I chose to get all festive again and create a heat embossed card based on this week’s sketch.
With Christmas just around the corner, I thought I would use this weeks challenge to get a head start on making my Christmas cards for family and friends!
I’ve got heaps of patterned paper in my crafty stash, but I wanted to create my own for this card, so I used a sentiment from the Big Bold Christmas stamp set, and heat embossed it using silver embossing powder onto some plain vellum. I then trimmed the vellum down to the size I wanted, and stuck it onto my card base.
Using a small piece of matching Sugar Cube cardstock, I tied some gold and silver metallic rat-tail cord around the bottom and secured the bow on top using a hot glue gun. Next I stamped the reindeer from the Peek-a-Boo Christmas stamp set onto some cardstock and heat embossed it using gold metallic embossing powder. Once the reindeer had cooled, I then die cut it out using the stamp set’s coordinating die. I then stuck the reindeer down to my panel using adhesive foam and added some sequin embellishments to it from the Wedding sequin mix, which matched my colour scheme perfectly. Finally I stuck the panel to my card using some more adhesive foam.
I hope you liked my card today and are inspired to get a jump-start on your holiday card making using this fun sketch! Be sure to stop by the Share Joy Challenge blog for more amazing inspiration and to link up your projects.
Thanks again for stopping by and have a wonderful day!
