Happy Valentine's Day & News

Hi Everyone!

Happy Valentine's Day! I hope you all have a wonderful day with your special someone today!

I'm just checking in today to share some happy news and some updates. On Saturday morning I woke to find a very happy email from Paper Crafts Magazine!! They have chosen 3 of my cards for publication in the new Stamp It! Cards - Volume 9 magazine which will be coming soon! Yay! I have to say I was sooo excited and happy when I saw the email, it definitely made my weekend!

On another note, I'm going to be away from the blog for the next couple of days as tomorrow I'm having some minor keyhole surgery done to remove a cyst from one of my ovaries. I'm actually not worried about it at all as I only have to stay in hospital overnight and it's a pretty common procedure, but I am really looking forward to the 8 days off of work! Lol! So I'm hoping I get to spend most of that week "resting" in the craft room!

I just thought I'd let you all know what's going on in case you were wondering where I've disappeared to. Hopefully I'll have some cards to share with you over the weekend.

Anyway thank you all for your support and kindness, it means so much to me.

Tuesday Trigger: Fancy Schmancy

Hi Friends!

I'm popping in today to share a card I made last night for the Moxie Fab World blog's current Tuesday Trigger: Fancy Schmancy. How yummy are those gorgeous little cakes?! I love these colours together so I couldn't resist playing along.

I decided to make this a card for a close friend my hubby and I have who currently lives in London, so the new London Background cling stamp by Hero Arts was perfect for this. I just had to get it as it reminds me of our trips to Europe. London is one of my favourite cities to visit.

Zig Zag Hello & Happy News!

Are you all having a wonderful Friday? I'm so glad the weekend is almost here!

Last night before going to bed I got some really happy news - I'm a lucky Fab Five Winner over on the Hero Arts blog for the January challenge!! Yay! I was sooo excited when my sweet friend Joy told me. I pretty much dropped everything and went straight online to see! It definitely made the rest of my night and I'm so honoured to have been selected along with some other amazing designers and their gorgeous cards. You can check out the post here.

Also yesterday I was excited to come home and find my big Hero Arts order from Simon Says Stamp waiting for me on my door step! I had ordered it before Christmas but it was held back waiting for some pre-order items to be released, so I couldn't wait to open it up and get inky!

With my yummy new stamps I created a card for Hero Arts' new February challenge - Friendship & Hello Cards.

I fell in love with this Zig Zag Cling Stamp the moment I saw it and knew I just had to get it. It's such a fun background stamp and I can definitely see myself using it over and over again. I already made a number of cards last night using it! Lol!

Moxie Fab World - Cool Tools Week: The Punches Challenge

Hi Everyone!

So sorry I have been MIA on the blog the last couple of weeks. I just haven't been feeling motivated lately (maybe due to the heat and a lack of mojo) but the mojo seems to be coming back, so I sat down and got crafty last night for the Cool Tools Week: Punches Challenge over at the Moxie Fab World.

I decided to use one of my big heart punches by Marvy and some patterned paper and gorgeous Bling Alphas by Kaisercraft to create a card for my hubby for Valentine's Day. I didn't really want it to be too girly, so I used some gorgeous black and cream velvet flocked patterned paper from the After Five collection, and kept the rest of the card neutral.

Supplies: Hero Arts: Hero Hues Notecard (Snow), Patterned Paper (Kaisercraft After Five Collection), Kaisercraft Bling Alphas (I & U), Marvy Uchida Heart Punch and Black Pen.

I drew the border onto the card using a black felt tip pen. For the heart, I punched the heart shape out of patterned paper 3 times before scoring each of them down the middle and folding them in half. I then adhered half of each of the hearts together to create an accordian style look before adhering it the card base. Here is a close up of the heart.

I hope my hubby likes it! Time for me to go and get some work done but I'll see you again shortly.

Clean & Simple - Love Birds

Hello Again!

Today I'm sharing a card I created for the current Hero Arts challenge - Love & Hugs & Kisses. With Valentine's day around the corner and a few weddings coming up for me, this is the perfect challenge to give me a head start on creating love themed cards.

I'm also using the simple embellishments idea from Day 6 of the Clean & Simple Card Making online class for my card.

I absolutely love this class! Clean and simple cards are so fun and quick to make, especially if you need to whip up a card at the very last minute.

Supplies: Hero Arts Stamps (Best Wishes (CL360) & Valentine Sayings (CL402)), Tsukineko StazOn Ink (Jet Black), Cardstock (Kraft, Metallic Silver & Bazzill Bling (Blank Check, Diamond & In The Pink)), Martha Stewart Edge Punch (Woodland Branch), Hero Arts Heart Accents Pearls - White (CH173), Hero Arts Small Blossoms (CH140), Hero Arts Designer Twine and Clear Glitter Button.

Such a super easy card to put together. I paper pieced the cute birds image onto my card base, and to create the branch, I used the Martha Stewart Woodland Branch edge punch on some silver cardstock before cutting off a section of it to adhere to my card.

For my simple embellishments I just used a clear glitter button, some twine, a pearl heart and a small blossom gemstone from Hero Arts.

Clean & Simple - Plainly White

Happy Wednesday everyone!

Boy is this week going by slowly! Most people are still on holidays here so it's been pretty quiet at work lately, making the days just drag. But at least it's Wednesday and only two more days to go until the weekend J

While it's been quiet at work here I have been catching up with some crafty inspiration online, especially the fun Clean & Simple Online Card Making Class hosted by talented gals Jennifer McGuire, Kristina Werner and Julie Ebersole. There is just so much amazing inspiration in this class!

Day 7 of the class is all about plain white cards so I after coming up with a few ideas yesterday, I got home and created this card last night.

Supplies: Hero Arts Stamps (Etched Medallion (S5356) & Live Life (CL493)), Tsukineko StazOn Ink (Jet Black), Cardstock (Metallic White), Bella! Adhesive Rhinestones (Black), Ranger Glossy Accents and EK Success Corner Adorner (Round).

I used metallic white cardstock for all of my card including the large flower. To create the flower I stamped the gorgeous Etched Medallion woodblock stamp twice, cut them out and layered them together by cutting only the center part of the second flower out. I then embellished the flower with rhinestones before coating the whole thing with glossy accents to give it shine and dimension. Here's a close up of the flower.

You can probably see the shine of the glossy accents better in the first photo though.

Time for Friendship

Hi Everyone!

How are you all this Monday morning? I swear the weekends are just never long enough! I pretty much spent the entire weekend indoors as it was just way too hot here to venture outside.

The temperature reached 36 degrees Celsius on Saturday and the humidity was shocking! Perth summers can definitely be unbearable. The bad thing is this is only the beginning! Our hottest time of summer is usually around February/March where it can reach 40+! Bring on Winter again I say!

The hubby and I decided we needed to hit the shops and get a huge floor fan for our study/my craft room, that way we can still spend time in there (we only have evaporative aircon upstairs which doesn't cool anything during the day time hours). It was either that, or I'd have to transfer the entire room downstairs to the family room under the refrigerated aircon, but to be honest I just really couldn't be bothered! There is just way too much stuff to move! Lol!

Anyway the fan makes a huge difference so I got to sit in there most of the day and get stampy. Here's one of the cards I created.

Embossing Powder - Opaque Finish (White), Hero Arts Folded Card (Mandarin), Vellum, Hero Arts: Hero Hues Designer Twine and Hero Arts: Hero Hues Dots (Sunshine).

I was inspired by the gorgeous cards on page 67 of the new Hero Arts 2012 Catalog to create this card. I stamped my background using matching shadow ink for that tone on tone effect, before heat embossing my sentiment in white. I stamped and heat embossed the flower image onto a piece of vellum, trimmed the bottom and adhered it to my card. I then embellished the vellum piece with some designer twine and matching dots.

Happily Ever After

Hi All!

Are you all having a great week so far? It's been a bit busy here with family stuff etc the past couple of weeks so I am really looking forward to this weekend - the first one where I don't have anything planned! I'm hoping I can spend most of it tucked away stamping (fingers crossed)!

Today I'm sharing a wedding card I created using the Large Lotus Pattern cling stamp by Hero Arts. I wanted a warm but elegant colour scheme, so I chose to only use two colours throughout this card.

Supplies: Hero Arts Stamps (Large Lotus Pattern (CG350) & Best Wishes (CL360)), Hero Arts Shadow Ink (Soft Sand (AF144)), Ranger Tim Holtz Distress Ink (Pumice Stone), Cardstock (Metallic White), Bazzill Basics Bling Cardstock (Blank Check), Hero Arts: Hero Hues Dots (Earth), Fiskars Border Punch (Apron Lace), Spellbinders Nestabilities (Labels Eighteen), Kaisercraft Basics Pearl Strips (Latte) and White Organza Ribbon.

To create this card I stamped the Large Lotus Pattern onto my card base using shadow ink. I then cut and border punched some Bazzill Bling cardstock to adhere to the centre of my card. After tying my ribbon around it I then die cut a cardstock shape and stamped my sentiment onto it before embellishing the border of it with an adhesive pearl strip. Lastly I adhered the sentiment to the base and embellished the card with some Hero Arts: Hero Hues Dots.

One Last Christmas Card...

I promise!

It feels like all I have been creating lately has been nothing but Christmas cards but the one I am sharing today is the very last one. As much as I love the holidays I got sick of making nothing but Christmas cards after a while!

Supplies: Hero Arts Stamps (Winking Reindeer (H5457), Very Merry Christmas (CL543) & Dots and Stripes (CG150)), Hero Arts: Hero Hues Chalk Ink (Punch (AF180)), Tsukineko StazOn Ink (Jet Black), Hero Arts: Hero Hues Folded Cards (Grenadine), Bazzill Basics Monochromatic Cardstock (Walnut), Hero Arts: Hero Hues Mixed Accents (Blush), Hero Arts Felt Snowflake (White), Kaisercraft Basics Adhesive Pearls (Chocolate & Snow), Ranger Glossy Accents and Machine Stitching.

With this card I stamped the background image onto my folded card using tone on tone stamping. I then stamped the reindeer onto the card and again onto some brown cardstock, which I then paper pieced onto the card before covering it with glossy accents. Lastly I stamped my sentiment onto the bottom of the card, stitched a border around the edge and embellished it with a felt snowflake and some adhesive pearls.

Well this wraps up my Christmas card making for 2011! I have some summery creations to share with you all so I will be back again very soon!

Summer Blossom Thank You

Hi Everyone!

I hope you all had a great day and a wonderful Christmas? I've been spending this week down south on my family's farm where I grew up and I have been enjoying every minute. I don't want to go back to Perth and work next week!

Tonight I'm sharing another card I created for the current Hero Arts challenge using one of their sketches as the base of my card which can be found here.

Supplies: Hero Arts Stamps (Thank You Sayings (CL142), Colour Me Flowers (CG133) & Blossoms (CG148)), Tsukineko StazOn Ink (Jet Black), Cardstock (Kraft & White), Hero Arts: Hero Hues Designer Twine, Derwent Coloured Pencils, Papertrey Ink Die (Take Three), Hero Arts: Hero Hues Mixed Accents (Earth & Sunshine) and Orange Button.

For this card I chose to use the third Hero Arts sketch and make a card non-Christmas related (I do have one very last Christmas card to share with you all but I thought I'd change it up a little!).

I used coloured pencils to colour in the blossoms on the kraft cardstock with some bright colours for a summery feel, which fits well with the weather we've been having here lately! It is definitely summer. Way too hot! :(

Well time for me to go as it's been an exhausting day here. I was up at 5.30am to help my parents all day today with a huge cherry order, so I definitely need to go to bed early tonight and catch up on some lost sleep!

Christmas Winter Town

Happy Christmas Eve everyone!

Only one more day to go until the big day full of endless food, family and fun! I can't wait just to have a few days off down in my old hometown. We are heading down there shortly, but before we leave I thought I'd quickly pop in and share another Christmas card with you all.

For this card I finally got around to inking up Hero Arts' gorgeous Winter Town woodblock stamp. I love this beautiful image and even though it's a winter stamp I can easily see it being used again for non-holiday themed projects. Something I think I might put to the test in the New Year.

This was actually a really quick and easy card to put together, albeit the sentiment actually took me quite a few goes to actually get the right consistency of ink through it! I think because the metallic cardstock is a bit shiny the distress ink seemed to run a bit, but I eventually got the right look after spraying some water onto my inked stamp before stamping! Something I'll now remember next time I'm using distress inks on metallic cardstock! Lol!

I've got to go now and finish off some last minute packing but I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas Eve! I'm also glad I don't actually have any more last minute shopping to do today as the shops are definitely going to be crazy!

Happy Christmas Card Set

Hello Friends!

Well it's finally Wednesday. Only a few more days to go until Christmas and I can't wait! This year we are spending it with my family down in Manjimup and I'm looking forward to getting away from the city for a week. It will be nice to be relaxing on the family farm again for a while!

In keeping with the whole Christmas card theme going on here lately (what can I say, it's Christmas!) I sat down and made a holiday card set for the current Hero Arts challenge - Card Sets & A Sketch Challenge.

For my card set I wanted to use some bright coloured folded cards together with some kraft cardstock and matching twine to create a uniform look over four cards. Below is what I came up with.

This was such a fun and easy set to make. First off I stamped the backgrounds using white ink onto kraft cardstock pieces before machine stitching a border around them. All of the images were then paper pieced onto the cards, apart from the Swirl Christmas Reindeer which was stamped directly onto the card base. I then covered all of the cute images with Glossy Accents to give them some dimension and shine, before adding some some matching embellishments and twine bows to each card.

Tuesday Trigger: And A Partridge In A Pear Tree

Hi All!

Did you all have a fun and relaxing weekend? As always I think it went by way too fast so I'm really looking forward to having next week off. Saturday was nice, I got to spend most of it in the craft room and for a change it was a very productive day! I managed to get a lot done before Christmas so I will have some things to share with you over the break while I'm down south in my old home town of Manjimup.

One of the cards I made over the weekend is for the current Tuesday Trigger: And a Partridge in a Pear Tree challenge over at the Moxie Fab World blog. Isn't this pillow absolutely gorgeous?

I was inspired by the gorgeous soft colours in this pillow as well as the little touch of bling throughout the bird, as well as the branch winding its way up the cushion. For my card I took the blue, grey and brown colours from the cushion, and the branch to created a Christmas card. For the little touch of bling I decided to use a sliver glitter based embossing powder for my image and sentiment.

Felt Flower Hello

Hello Friends!

Thank god it's finally Friday!!! Only a couple of more hours for me and then the weekend can begin! It's been a busy but good day today. I found out this morning that I'm going to be an Aunt! My brother and his gorgeous wife are expecting their first baby in June. It's sooo exciting and I can't wait to spoil my new nephew or niece!

Anyway moving on to something crafty, today I'm sharing a quick card I put together using up some of my scraps. I had some left over cardstock and felt pieces that I thought I'd die cut and turn into a card.

Supplies: Hero Arts Stamps (Raindrop Background (S5101) & All Occasion Messages (CL272)), ColorBox Pigment Ink (Frost White), Tsukineko StazOn Ink (Jet Black), Cardstock (White & Bazzill Monochromatic (Hillary)), Spellbinders Nestabilities (Peony), Spellbinders Shapeabilities (Foliage, Nested Butterflies & Nested Pennants), Kaisercraft Adhesive Rhinestones (Silver), Felt (Pink, Purple & White) and Crystal Flower Embellishment.

This was super easy to put together. I just stamped the background onto my card using white ink before die cutting all my embellishments and assembling them onto my card. I then stamped my sentiment and embellished the butterfly and flower.

Inspired Glitter Butterflies

Hi Friends!

How has your week been so far? I have to say I am really looking forward to the Christmas break already! These past couple of weeks have been quite hectic with trying to get everything (including gift shopping) all done before the holidays, and with so many family functions lined up this weekend, I can't wait until Christmas actually hits so we can finally relax a bit!

Last night I got some time to sit down in the craft room so I made a card for the Moxie Fab World's Card Creations: Get Inspired Week - Get Inspired in The Kitchen Challenge. The photo below is the inspiration and ever since I saw it, an idea for a card had been stuck in my head, so last night I finally sat down and crafted it out! Lol!

Instead of taking my inspiration from the patterns in this photo, I took my inspiration from cool the colours. I love the different tones of green against the white background in the photo, so I decided to make the base of my card white as well. I then worked the different shades of green into my card by using some gorgeous glitter cardstock I had in my stash by American Crafts.

Supplies: Hero Arts Stamps (All Occasion Messages (CL272)), Hero Arts: Hero Hues Chalk Ink (Grass (AF182)), American Crafts Glitter Cardstock (Leaf & Mint), Cardstock (Metallic White), Spellbinders Shapeabilities (Nested Butterflies) and Kaisercraft Adhesive Pearls (Snow).

To create this card I trimmed a piece of white metallic cardstock so that it was smaller than my actual card base. Next I die cut the butterflies and stamped my sentiment onto the bottom of the cardstock panel. I then adhered glitter cardstock to the back of the panel and embellished the butterflies with adhesive pearls before adhering the panel to my card base using adhesive foam.

Virginia's Birthday Celebration!

Hi Everyone!

I just wanted to quickly pop in today and share a card I sent to a very sweet person for her upcoming birthday (you may have seen this card before, here).

This fun hobby (or should I say obsession!) of ours is such a great way to connect with like minded people all over the world and form wonderful friendships.

One of these people, whom I am honoured to call a great friend, is the very talented and super sweet Virginia Lu, who is turning 25 again. :)

Virginia's cards and blog posts never fail to put a smile on my face every time I visit her blog, and her beautiful comments and words of encouragement in return always make my day and make me love this hobby of ours even more.

So Virginia, a huge Happy Birthday to you my sweet friend, and I hope you have an amazing day celebrating this wonderful milestone! I have no doubt Dr John, Stephanie and David will spoil you rotten and make this day special, so enjoy every minute of it! You deserve it!

Hi!

Did you all have a wonderful weekend? Mine was nice and quiet after a pretty busy week at work, but so far this week things seem to have settled down which is great.

Today I'm sharing another Christmas card I created using the gorgeous Tuesday Trigger photo (below) from the Moxie Fab World blog. I absolutely love this colour scheme, it's just so relaxing (I think it might also have something to do with the fact that our living room is decorated in this colour scheme also)!

I had some left over metallic cardstock scraps from my previous card using these colours, so I decided to ink up my Stunning Snowflakes background stamp by Hero Arts again to create some more patterned paper for my card.

Supplies: Hero Arts Stamps (Stunning Snowflakes (S5069) & Very Merry Christmas (CL543)), Hero Arts Shadow Ink (Soft Sand (AF144)), Tsukineko StazOn Ink (Jet Black), Hero Arts: Hero Hues Folded Cards (Mocha), Cardstock (Metallic Cream), Hero Arts: Hero Hues Designer Twine, Hero Arts Felt Snowflakes (White), Spellbinders Nestabilities (Lacey Circles), Spellbinders Shapeabilities (Nested Birds), Kaisercraft Adhesive Pearls (Chino), Kaisercraft Adhesive Rhinestones (Black) and Felt (Red).

After creating my snowflake patterned paper I die cut it using the Lacey Circles die from Spellbinders. After adhering it to my card base using adhesive foam, I wrapped some twine around the card and secured it with a bow. For my splash of red on the card I wanted something like a Christmas bird type embellishment, so I created one by die cutting it from felt using the Nested Birds die. I then added a felt snowflake and some adhesive pearls and rhinestones, before stamping my sentiment.

Here is a close up so you can see the softly stamped background a little better.

Red & Rustic Holiday Card

Hello Friends

Wow, what a busy week it has been here! I'm so glad it's Friday and almost the weekend - time to relax! It's been pretty flat out at work this past week, as we have just introduced a new billing system (and of course it has to be during the billing period!), but just a few more days of getting used to it and we should be fine.

Last night as I was on my way to bed I couldn't help but detour into the craft room for half an hour and quickly whip up a Christmas card for the current Hero Arts challenge, using this gorgeous inspiration photo from the current Moxie Fab World's Tuesday Trigger: Red & Rustic.

I absolutely love the colours in this photo, I could make a million cards just using this wonderful combo! To me the different neutral shades mixed together with a splash of red, just screamed of a modern take on a traditional Christmas colour scheme, so here is what I came up with.

Supplies: Hero Arts Stamps (Stunning Snowflakes (S5069) & Very Merry Christmas (CL543)), Hero Arts Shadow Ink (Soft Sand (AF144)), Ranger Tim Holtz Distress Ink (Pumice Stone), Cardstock (Kraft, White, Metallic Cream & Bazzill Bling (Red Carpet)), Spellbinders Nestabilities (Labels Eighteen), Hero Arts: Hero Hues Designer Twine & Hero Arts: Hero Hues Mixed Accents (Earth).

For my card I stamped the Stunning Snowflakes background stamp onto some plain white cardstock using Soft Sand shadow ink. I then trimmed my snowflake background to size and tied some designer twine by Hero Arts around it, before adhering it to my card base. Next I stamped my sentiment onto some metallic cardstock before die cutting it out and adhered it to a larger die cut piece of red cardstock. Finally I trimmed my die cut piece on one side and embellished it with adhesive rhinestones before adhering it to my card base using adhesive foam.

Ok well maybe not here in Oz anymore as it's now 22 November, but it still is in many other places around the world! So a big HELLO to all of you my sweet blogging friends!

I created this next card for the Pay it Forward Challenge over at the Moxie Fab World Blog. It's one of many fun challenges Cath has going on over there as part of the 365 Cards Week celebrations. Be sure to stop by and check all the fun.

I know it's no longer fall over here but I really love fall colours so decided to make this a fall type hello card.

For my card I stamped my old letter writing stamp onto my card base using white ink. I then stamped my sentiment onto a white cardstock piece before adhering it to my base using adhesive foam. To finish it off I adhered some coloured leaves around the sentiment and a left over felt acorn I had from my card yesterday.

Thank You Acorns Card

Hi Everyone!

Did you all have a fantastic weekend? Mine was really nice and quiet. My hubby took me out for breakfast on Saturday, then I went and spent the rest of the afternoon with my parents as they were up visiting from Manjimup. Then yesterday I got to spend the entire afternoon in the craft room which was really nice! I'm looking forward to doing it again this weekend, hopefully!

While I was holed up being crafty on Sunday, I decided to play along with the current Simon Says Stamp Challenge - Thanksgiving/Thank You. They have some really fun challenges on their blog every week so be sure to stop by and have a look.

For this challenge I decided to make a fall themed thank you card. I have had a huge pile of felt sitting in my craft room waiting to be used so I decided to create and incorporate some felt die cut embellishments into my project. It was the first time I have ever used felt in my die cutting (shocking, I know!), but now I think I'm addicted!

Supplies: Hero Arts Stamps (Tree Trunks (S5477) & Thank You Sayings (CL142)), Tsukineko Brilliance Ink (Moonlight White), Tsukineko StazOn Ink (Timber Brown), Cardstock (Kraft & White), Hero Arts: Hero Hues Designer Twine, Hero Arts: Hero Hues Mixed Accents (Earth), Papertrey Ink Dies (Autumn Acorns Collection), Felt (Brown & Burnt Yellow) and EK Success Corner Adorner (Round).

For my card I stamped the Tree Trunks background stamp onto some kraft cardstock using white ink. I then stamped my sentiment onto some white cardstock and rounded the corners before wrapping some twine around the end. I die cut some acorns out of two colours of felt, before cutting the tops off some of them and adhering them to the lighter colour, before adhering them to my sentiment piece. I then embellished the sentiment with some adhesive pearls and adhered it to my card base using adhesive foam.

Holiday Sweets - A Post Full of Yumminess!

Hi All!

Thank god it's Friday over here! I just can't wait for the work day to end and the weekend to start. I think it's actually going to take some time before I get used to being back at work and having to wake up early!

Today, I thought I would share with you all some photos from our trip that I took of all things yummy and sweet! I tell you, Europe has sooo many delicious sweet treats I could move there just for that reason!

First up are some pictures from Belgium of none other than what they are famous for - chocolate!

Next up are some photos from Paris. When in Paris do as the Parisians do! In other words - try something they are famous for - macarons!! I have to tell you their macarons were absolutely to die for and you could get them in sooo many different flavours it was sooo hard to choose!

We also went to famous Laduree on the Avenue des Champs-Elysees and had some macarons and coffee. Again they had sooo many macarons to choose from but their cakes were also amazing too! Laduree is famous for creating the macaron back in the early 20th Century! They now also have stores all over the world, you can check out their gorgeous website here.

In Zurich we came across lots of these gorgeous Swiss chocolate cakes. How delicious do these look!

Finally A Card! - Merriest Wishes Reindeer

Hi Everyone!

I hope your day has been good. Last night my hubby went out to catch up with some mates which left me with the house to myself and some much wanted craft time! It felt so good getting inky again after nearly a 5 week break, although it does feel like it's been a lot longer – that's how much I've missed it!

So I decided to play along with this month's Hero Arts Challenge: Holiday Gift Tags & Gift Wrap with a colour challenge, and ink up some new stamps that arrived at home before we went on holiday and have since been waiting to be used!

For my card I used the cute colour challenge colours below.

I love pastel colours and thought these would be fun to incorporate into a Christmas card as a non-traditional colour scheme.

Holiday Inspiration

Hi All!
I thought I'd pop in today and share some inspirational holiday pictures I took on our trip. Even though it was October it seemed everywhere we went in Europe was getting ready for Christmas, and they had some really gorgeous window displays and decorations. Definitely got me into the holiday spirit!
These next two photos were taken in a gorgeous little Christmas shop in Bruges, Belgium. There were so many gorgeous displays in there and when you went downstairs into the basement, it was made up like a giant winter wonderland/snow cave! It was soo cool!

I love those cute little white squirrels on the left. They were so adorable!

This next photo was taken in the Brown Thomas department store in Dublin. I would love to have an open fire place at home which I could decorate exactly like this.

Edinburgh, Scotland also had a number of cute little Christmas Shops. I loved the display in this one (sorry for the reflective photo!).

We absolutely loved going through the Christmas section at Harrods. I could have spent all day just in that section, there were so many gorgeous decorations!

Home Sweet Home

Hi Sweet Friends!

Well we are finally back from our trip to Europe and although we had an amazing time, it is so nice to finally be back home. Living out of a suitcase for 4 weeks can be a bit trying at times!

Unfortunately though we came back home to some bad news. We arrived home last Saturday to find out that my grandfather (on my father's side) passed away the Tuesday before. He was such a fun loving person who always had a smile on his face no matter what and we are really going to miss him. He was 86 years old and had a really good long life.

It's been a hard emotional week back but at least we were home in time to attend the funeral and say our goodbyes. I'm doing ok generally but I especially have my moments whenever I see my dad upset.

I'm back at work now and am hoping to get back to card making again in the next couple of days to take my mind of things, but I'll be back to share some photos from our trip real soon.

Hi sweet friends!!

Just popped in to say a quick hi! We are still away in Europe at the moment but will be back home in just under 2 weeks.

We are in Nice at the moment and are soon heading over to Dublin which I'm really looking forward to :) I'll definitely share some photos when we are back.

I'm missing home a bit though as well as my kitty cat, and am really itching to get back into the craft room! There is so much gorgeous inspiration over here, especially Christmas inspiration, and I just want to get home and get stampy! Lol

Hi Everyone!

Sooo sorry I haven't been around lately, so much has been going on around here which I will be able to tell you all about very soon!

Anyway I just thought I'd pop in and give you an update, letting you all know I will be back blogging regularly again very soon.

Tomorrow my hubby and I are flying out to Europe for 4 weeks for a much needed holiday and I sooo can't wait!! I will definitely post some pictures etc up once we are back so I hope you all stop by again soon.

I also just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to sweet Christy! I received a big parcel of goodies in the mail earlier this week from winning her blog appreciation candy! Here's a pic of all the goodies she generously sent:

It definitely made my day when I received that wonderful package! I'm looking forward to getting home from holiday and getting creative with all those fun goodies! A "Meow" Layout

Today I'm sharing a layout I created of my precious little furbabie. I've been putting together quite a few layouts recently, which is really good because I still have so many more photos I want to scrapbook!

For this layout I used some really cute patterned paper from Doodlebug Design Inc and also some of their really cute boutique brads. I soo love their boutique brads, they are just so adorable!

Snow Fun

Happy Tuesday everyone!

Even though I wish it were Friday already, my week has been good so far, how about yours? I'm at work at the moment but thought I would pop online and quickly share this next card with you.

I'm having so much fun at the moment creating holiday cards I couldn't help but make another one!

Supplies: Hero Arts Stamps (Jolly Christmas (CL232)), Tsukineko StazOn Ink (Jet Black), Cardstock (Metallic White), Patterned Paper (Doodlebug Design Inc: Great Getaways Collection - Up, Up and Away), Doodlebug Design Inc Jellishments (Whimsical Winter), Hero Arts: Hero Hues Mixed Accents (Sea) and Blue Machine Stitching.

This card was actually really quick to put together. I just stitched some of that cute cloud patterned paper onto some white metallic cardstock and adhered it to my card base. I then added the gorgeous Doodlebug Design Inc jellishments and some coloured pearls as well as stamping on my sentiment.

Moxie Fab World: Tuesday Trigger - Nice and Neutral & Happy Father's Day

Hi Everyone!

I can't believe it's Sunday already again! This week has just flown by! Here in Australia, the first Sunday of September is Father's Day for us, so to all the dads out there today, Happy Father's Day! I hope you all have a wonderfully fun day with your families :)

Today we are having a big family lunch in honour of my dad and I hope he likes the card I created for him! For me I usually make masculine cards in neutral earthy tones (I guess they are just manly colours!), and when I saw this week's Tuesday Trigger over at the Moxie Fab World Blog, I just had to play along. The colours are perfect for a Father's Day card!

Isn't this photo and the neutral colours just gorgeous?! I chose to pick up the browns from this photo and used it as the main base colour for my card, then I found some Kaisercraft patterned paper in my stash that matched the other neutral colours in this image perfectly. This is what I came up with:

Supplies: Hero Arts Stamps (Happy Dad's Day (CL335)), Tsukineko StazOn Ink (Jet Black), Hero Arts Digital Kit (Sweet Owls Printable), Hero Arts: Hero Hues Folded Cards (Latte), Patterned Paper (Kaisercraft: After Five Collection - Cocktail), Copic Sketch Markers (Cool Gray No. 7 (C7), Burnt Umber (E29), Sand (E33), Ocean Green (G28), Warm Gray No. 3 (W3) & Warm Gray No. 7 (W7)), Hero Arts: Hero Hues Dots (Earth), Brown Machine Stitching and Ranger Glossy Accents.

For my card I cut a strip of patterned paper and machine stitched it to the base of my card. I printed out the cute Sweet Owls Printable digital kit by Hero Arts onto some plain white cardstock, selected the owl I wanted and coloured it to match the colour scheme of the Trigger photo and the patterned paper. I then cut the image out, adhered it to my card base and covered it with Glossy Accents. Lastly I stamped my sentiment onto the card and embellished it with some earth coloured dots.

Again Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there today, and dad if you read this at some point today, I love you and thank you so much for all that you do for us!

Sweet Birthday

Hi Friends!

How is your week so far? It's Thursday afternoon here but I really wish it was Friday afternoon! I want the weekend to be here already!

Anyway I thought I would share a sweet birthday card I created the other day using some really cute Doodlebug Design Inc products I had in my stash. I'm definitely a huge fan of their products - they are all just so cute and whimsical, they're fun to design with!

Supplies: Hero Arts Stamps (Wonderful Birthday (CL382)), Tuskineko StazOn Ink (Jet Black), Cardstock (Metallic White), Patterned Paper (Doodlebug Design Inc - Sweet Treats), Doodlebug Design Inc Boutique Brads (Cupcake Assortment & Pink), White Satin Ribbon and Pink Machine Stitching.

I've had those cute cupcake brads in my stash for quite a while now but just can't ever seem to make myself use them up because they are just too cute! I don't know about you, but I am definitely a craft supply hoarder! I do have to admit though, it was fun finally getting to use these.

To make my card I measured and cut a piece of white cardstock and a smaller piece of patterned paper before adhering them together. I then machine stitched down the edges of the patterned paper before adding the brads to the centre. I then adhered the piece to my card base, stamped my sentiment on and added some ribbon to the top.

Warm Christmas Wishes

Hi Everyone

I hope you all had a nice weekend? Ours was relaxing here which was a nice change. Again I just want to thank everyone for your kind words and comments on the passing of my uncle. It really means a lot to me so thank you again.

I got to spend quite a good part of the weekend with some "me" time in the craft room for the first time in a while and I have to say it felt really good getting back in there. I have quite a few new projects to share over the coming week but this next card was something I made a few weeks ago but haven't had the chance to share yet.

I don't know what it is at the moment but I just feel like making Christmas cards even though we are still a few months away from it! I guess I like starting early! When I think of Christmas I often think of warm cozy nights by the fire place with family and friends and filled with lots of fun and laughter (pretty weird when Christmas, normally for us over here in Australia, is during the very hot summer!), so I wanted to create a card that portrayed all that warm coziness I quite often picture.

Supplies: Hero Arts Stamps (Cozy Moments (CL358), Wishes Come True (CL461) & Magical Background (CG211)), Hero Arts: Hero Hues Folded Cards & Layering Paper (Latte), Bazzill Basics Bling Cardstock (Red Carpet), Tsukineko StazOn Ink (Jet Black), Hero Arts: Hero Hues Print Flowers (Earth), Hero Arts: Hero Hues Dots (Blush), Petaloo Paper Flowers (Red), Ranger Glossy Accents, Brown Satin Ribbon and Craft Wire.

For my card I started off by stamping the Magical Background stamp onto a Latte Folded Card using black ink. I then measured and cut a smaller piece of Latte Layering Paper and some red cardstock before layering them together and stamping my sentiment onto it. For the mug of cocoa I stamped the image onto plain white cardstock, coloured it in then covered it with glossy accents. Then I curled and added some craft wire behind the mug to create the effect of steam. To finish off the card I layered some paper flowers, a small bow and my cut out image on the corner of the sentiment panel before adhering it with adhesive foam to my card base.

Appreciation Giveaway

Hi there!

Lately it seems like I'm posting more about why I've been neglecting my blog recently than I have about cards! I do feel really bad about that and apologise but it has just been a really trying couple of weeks.

I won't go into to much detail but just over a week ago my uncle passed away after a year long battle with cancer and it's just been heartbreaking seeing my aunt and cousins hurting, so to be honest I haven't really felt like doing anything much lately. It's been a really hard week but knowing he is no longer in pain and in a better place has been somewhat comforting.

I've started getting back into the craft room these past couple of days and am finding the distraction really helps take my mind of things so I have some cards that I will be sharing with you all soon, but to thank you all for patiently continuing to follow my blog over the weeks I've been neglecting it, I have decided to do a giveaway in appreciation of all your kindness.

Happy Holiday Owls

Hi All!

I don't know what it is, but lately I just feel like creating Christmas cards at the moment! I know, its only August!! I just love anything holiday themed, it's so fun and happy so I decided to create a Christmas card that fits with the current Hero Arts challenge of Creatures & Cards for Kids.

I went through my stash of wood mounted stamps the other day and came across the cute Owl Set which I haven't had the chance to ink up yet (shame on me I think I have many stamps in this category though! Lol!) and as soon as I saw them the idea for this card just popped straight into my head.

Supplies: Hero Arts Stamps (Owl Set (LP117) & Jolly Christmas (CL232)), Tsukineko Memento Ink (Tuxedo Black), Cardstock (White), Hero Arts: Hero Hues Dots (Blush & Foliage) and Copic Sketch Markers (Nile Green (G07), Forest Green (G17) & Crimson (RV29)).

I just wanted something cute, clean and simple so I stamped three of the four owls onto a plain white card and coloured parts of them in using the traditional red and green Christmas colour combination. I then took my sentiment from the cute Jolly Christmas clear set, cut it apart so it ran in one straight line and stamped it under the little owls. I then added some Hero Arts: Hero Hues Dots between the image and the sentiment and adhered them using some glossy accents.

Well I'm off to go and relax a little before heading to bed, but I'll be back soon with a "warm" winter card.

Sleepy Kitty Layout

Hi All!

Hopefully you are all having a great day. Mine is ok, still battling the flu but I'm starting to feel better. Anyway today I thought I'd share with you all a layout I did a week ago of our precious kitty.

One of my New Year's resolutions this year was to get around to scrapping most of the photos we have of our little furbabie but every time I sit down in my craft room I just end up card making instead!

And because I have so much cat themed product I decided it's about time I started using some of it!

This was a pretty quick and easy layout to create. I just cut down my base piece of cardstock to 8x8 inches to fit my album, measured and cut a smaller piece of patterned paper to adhere to the base before adding my photo and various embellishments.

Well I better go and do some work (even though I'd much rather be in my craft room on this wet and windy Winter's day) but have a great day where ever you are!

Hi Everyone!

So sorry for being a really bad blogger these past couple of weeks! It has really been a hectic and stressful time over here at the moment but all is finally settling down now.

My grandfather had to have emergency heart surgery last week to replace his aorta so you can imagine how stressed everyone has been but he is now doing fine and is back at home which is such a relief.

To top that off I've also been battling a bad case of the flu these last couple of weeks which has been very exhausting but it's finally starting to ease up so I hope to head back into the craft room this weekend. I've been hanging out to get in there and get stampy for a while now but have just been too tired to do much :(

However, I do have some projects I completed just before these last two weeks went crazy so I will be sharing those with you really soon.

I love how this wonderful hobby of ours enables us to form wonderful and supportive friendships with other paper addicts from around the world! You are all so supportive and kind and I really appreciate all of your sweet comments.

Hi Crafty Friends!

Did you all have a great weekend? Mine was really nice and quiet which was good because it was freezing cold and raining most of the weekend, so it was a perfect time to be holed up indoors!

I got to spend quite a bit of time in my craft room as my hubby was out and about most of Saturday and I decided to give a window card a try. I was inspired by Jennifer McGuire's window card from the first week of the Summer Card Camp online class so gave it a go using Hero Arts' Stitched Frame poly clear stamp set.

Embossing Powder: Opaque Finish (White), Copic Sketch Markers (Process Blue, Peacock Blue & Grass Green), Spellbinders Nestabilities (Large Labels), Hero Arts: Hero Hues Twine, Hero Arts: Hero Hues Mixed Accents (Earth) and Yellow Button.

I stamped Hero Arts' Flourish Background Cling stamp using Soft Pool shadow ink on the inside of my card. It stamped so softly, here is a close up of the front of the card where you can just make it out.

Hi Again!

Today I'm sharing another card I created using this week's colour combo from the Online Summer Card Camp 2011 and lots of fun Hero Arts stamps for the current Hero Arts monthly challenge.

There are so many ways to interpret this colour combo so for my next card I decided to use the orange as the main colour and work the others in somehow. Let me tell you, it was a challenge! I'm still not sure if I actually like the way this card turned out - these aren't exactly what I would call my 'strong' colours! Anyway, let me know what you think.

Summer Blossoms

Hi Everyone!

So sorry I've been MIA lately on the blog! I had no Internet connection last week and you would think that would have meant I spent the whole week card making, but unfortunately my mojo decided to chose that time to go on a holiday also!

But it seems to be coming back and last night I spent some time in my craft room creating for the current Hero Arts Challenge: Summertime & Parties.

I have also been taking part in the Online Summer Card Camp 2011 hosted by Jennifer McGuire and Kristina Werner.

Week 2's colour combo just screams summer to me so I couldn't resist creating a card using these fun fruity colours.

Embossing Powder: Opaque Finish (White), Hero Arts: Hero Hues Memento Markers (Bamboo Leaves, Cantaloupe & Tangelo), Hero Arts: Hero Hues Mixed Accents (Sunshine) and Hero Arts Twine.

For my card I decided to try out the embossed resist technique on my big blossom which I have seen Jennifer McGuire do many times, but which I have never actually gotten around to giving a go. Let's just say I think I've found a new favourite technique!

It was so fun and easy and I love the way the flower turned out! I will definitely be using this technique more often and it really helped in bringing back all my mojo! I now can't wait to get back into my craft room, and with my hubby busy most of this week with work functions etc there will be lots of studio time for me during the week nights!

More Neapolitan Inspiration

Hi Again!

I'm back for my second post today. Scroll down to see my earlier post and creation. This time I have two cards inspired by the yummy picture below for the Moxie Fab World's Tuesday Trigger.

When I first saw this picture it just screamed baby girl cards to me so I sat down and played a bit in the craft room and came up with these next two cards. They are both pretty similar except that one uses traditional stamping and heat embossing, and the other uses adhesive embellishments and strings of pearls.

Here is my first card:

Supplies: Hero Arts Stamps (Congrats (CL488)), Tsukineko VersaMagic Chalk Ink (Pink Petunia), Cardstock (Metallic White), Hero Arts: Hero Hues Layering Paper (Mocha), Pebbles Inc Dimensional Stickers (New Addition - Girl), EK Success Corner Adorner (Round) and White String of Pearls.

I saw the gorgeous New Addition - Girl dimensional stickers by Pebbles Inc on Saturday when I was at my LSS and just couldn't resist getting them.

To create this card I just cut my cardstock pieces to size, rounded the top corners of white cardstock and adhered the pram and small heart dimensional stickers from the set to the cardstock. I then stamped my sentiment below the sticker in matching pink ink then adhered two rows of some string of pearls I had in my stash using a hot glue gun.

My next card is another baby girl one and is almost identical to the first but uses traditional stamping and heat embossing for the image.

Supplies: Hero Arts Stamps (Adorable Baby Girl (CL265) & Congrats (CL488)), Tsukineko Embossing Ink (Clear), American Crafts Zing! Embossing Powder: Opaque Finish (Blush), Cardstock (Metallic White), Hero Arts: Hero Hues Layering Paper (Mocha), Hero Arts Pearl Heart Accents (Pink), KaiserCraft Paper Blooms (Fair Floss), EK Success Corner Adorner (Round) and Ribbon (Pebbles Ink - Ever After).

To create this card I just measured and cut my cardstocks to size. I then rounded the edge of one corner on my white cardstock then stamped and heat embossed the image and sentiment. I then tied a bow around the cardstock piece and embellished it with a paper bloom and adhesive pearl hearts. I then adhered my white cardstock piece to my card base using adhesive foam.

Tuesday Trigger: Cosmopolitan Neapolitan

Hi Everyone!

I hope you all enjoyed the weekend or are still enjoying the weekend! Now that it's finally really hit winter over here the days have been freezing making it so easy to just hole my self up in my craft room and make a few cards this weekend.

I decided this weekend to play along with the current Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger challenge. It's been a while since I've had some time to play along with the Moxie Fab challenges and I really have missed them – they are so much fun! Now that I have a lot more free time I hope to play along most weeks.

This week's trigger photo is so gorgeous. I Just love those three colours together.

Don't those popsicles look so yummy?! Here is my take on this photo:

Supplies: Hero Arts Stamps (Best Wishes (CL360)), Tsukineko StazOn Ink (Jet Black), Cardstock (White), Hero Arts: Hero Hues Layering Paper (Mocha), KaiserCraft Adhesive Rhinestones (Hot Pink) and Assorted Pink Buttons.

To create the button and bling heart I traced a heart onto my card base and adhered the assorted buttons within the shape. I then filled in any gaps using adhesive rhinestones and then erased the pencil line afterwards. I then stamped my sentiment onto some mocha cardstock and adhered it to the card using adhesive foam.

Feeling Blue

Hi Again!

Happy Saturday everyone! Today I'm sharing another congratulations card I created on Monday.

For this card I used a colour I don’t often use when card making – blue. It was a step out of my comfort zone but I really like the way the damask stands out on the off white cardstock. What do you think?

Supplies: Hero Arts Stamps (), Tsukineko Embossing Ink (Clear), American Crafts Zing! Embossing Powder: Opaque Finish (Wave), Hero Arts: Hero Hues Folded Cards (Eggshell), Spellbinders Shapeabilities (Fancy Tags Three), Hero Arts: Hero Hues Mixed Accents (Sea) and White Satin Ribbon.

Creating this card was really easy. I stamped and heat embossed the background image onto some cardstock before die cutting a fancy tag shape from some matching cardstock and heat embossing my sentiment onto it. I then embellished the card base with some white satin ribbon and the sentiment tag with some adhesive rhinestones before adhering the sentiment to the card with a adhesive foam.

Well I better go now and get some housework out of the way so I can spend the rest of the day crafting!

Flourishful Congratulations

Hi Friends!

We are almost at the end of another week and I hope you have all had a great one so far? I've been busy with a few things around home lately and my sweet cousin who is having her first baby in August asked me to design and create her baby shower invites for her. I was so honoured and excited to be able to make them for her. I'll show you the end result over the next few days :)

This past Monday being a public holiday here, I did manage to grab some stampy time and created a few cards for Paper Crafts 2011 Gallery Idol challenge! I've always loved their annual Gallery Idol challenges and the mass of inspiration all the contests provide throughout each round is amazing and this year for the first time the challenge is open to international contestants! I was so excited to see that so thought I'd give it a go.

The theme for the Gallery Idol open auditions is Congratulations cards which also goes perfectly with the current Hero Arts monthly challenge: Weddings & Congratulations.

For my card I chose to use a classic wedding colour combination of silver and white along with some silver rhinestone trim, which I saved from one of my cousin's wedding invitations & church programmes a few weeks ago, and of course some white tulle I had in my stash. What's a wedding card without tulle?

Supplies: Hero Arts Stamps (Flourish Background (CG119) & Best Wishes (CL360)), Cardstock (Bazzill Bling – Tiara), Tsukineko StazOn Ink (Jet Black), Tsukineko Embossing Ink (Clear), American Crafts Zing! Embossing Powder: Opaque Finish (White), White Tulle and Silver Rhinestone Trim.

To create the card I stamped and heat embossed the flourish background onto silver cardstock before stamping my sentiment to the bottom of the card. I then tied some tulle around the card into a bow and adhered the rhinestone trim to the tulle bow using a hot glue gun.

TD13: Tiffany Doodles June Challenge - Steppin' Into Summer!

Hi Everyone! Well today is the 7th day of the month which means it's time for a new Tiffany Doodles Challenge!

The theme for this month's challenge is Steppin' Into Summer. While it's just gone into winter here in Australia, many of you are just entering the first stages of a gorgeous summer and what better way to celebrate than with a fun summer challenge.

For my card I chose to use the fun new 3 Surfboards image and some cute bright and sunny patterned paper.

Supplies: Tiffany Doodles Digital Stamp (3 Surfboards), Font (Jokerman), Cardstock (Kraft), Patterned Paper (KaiserCraft Candy Lane Collection: Sherbet & Tutti Fruit) and KaiserCraft Pearl Strips (Latte).

To create my card I re-sized and printed the surfboards image and sentiment onto some kraft cardstock before re printing the image onto different patterned papers. I then cut one surfboard out from each different patterned paper and adhered them to my card base. I then embellished the sand with a strip of adhesive pearls.

Flower Pot of Thanks

Hi Everyone!

Are you all enjoying the week so far? It's Friday here today in Perth which is sooo good because it's been a really busy week and I'm looking forward to relaxing over the weekend. I've had so many things on this past month that it's so nice to have a weekend where I don't have anything planned!

Well I'm back today to share another card I created for the current Hero Arts Challenge: Fabulous Flowers. Who doesn't love flowers?!

I really love that gorgeous flower on the new Stitched Frame poly clear stamp set so I thought I'd do something a little different and create a pot full of flowers card.

Supplies: Hero Arts Stamps (Stitched Frame (CL527)), ColorBox Pigment Ink (Frost White), Hero Arts: Hero Hues Layering Paper (Mocha), Cardstock (Bazzill Bling: In the Pink, Hollywood, Sparkle, Blind Date, Flirty & Spoiled Brat and Bazzill Monochromatic: Leapfrog) and Hero Arts: Hero Hues Mixed Accents (Blush, Foliage, Sea, Sunshine, Floral & Earth).

To create the flower pot card base, I measured and cut out two separate pieces from the Mocha coloured layering paper (the top end of one piece being slightly wider than the bottom end of the piece) to create the shape of the pot. I then scored a line about a centimetre down from the top of one of the pieces and adhered the top part of it to the other (thus creating the folded card). From the remaining pieces of layering paper I cut a small strip of cardstock and stuck it over the top front of the pot to create the pot's rim. I then cut a small circle of left over cardstock and adhered it to the top of the back part of the card creating a base for which to adhere the flowers to at the front. I then stamped the flower and leaf images onto coloured cardstock, cut them out and adhered them around the circular base at the top of the card. I then stamped my sentiment onto the bottom of the pot and embellished the flowers with adhesive pearls.

Hi Again!

I hope you are all having a great week so far.

Today I'm sharing a quick CAS card I created using Hero Arts' International Skyline woodblock stamp. When I first saw this stamp I just had to get it and now I've finally gotten around to getting it inked up!

Supplies: Hero Arts Stamps (International Skyline (H5470) & Getaway Travel (CL302)), Tsukineko StazOn Ink (Jet Black), ColorBox Pigment Ink (Frost White), Hero Arts: Hero Hues Folded Cards (Mocha), Cardstock (White), Vellum, Font (Black Jack), Hero Arts Metallic Décor (Silver) and Ranger Glossy Accents.

After stamping the image down my card and leaving the ink to dry, I stamped the little plane onto some plain white cardstock, cut it out and then covered it with glossy accents. I printed my sentiment out onto some plain vellum, cut it down to size and adhered it to the back of the cut out plane to create a banner. I then adhered the banner to the card base and used a silver metallic décor accent to hide the adhesive at the end of the banner.

Thinking of Flowers

Hi Friends!

Thank you all for being so patient with me over the last few weeks. I am feeling much better now and have finally managed to get quite a few things done around the craft room that I have been meaning to do for a while now, so I'm happy to say I am all up to date now!

One of the things on my to do list was to update the look of my blog which I completed over the weekend and I hope you all like it.

I also had a bit of crafty time and got a few cards made over the weekend, so as promised its back to a bit more regular posting! Feels so nice to be back in the craft room getting stampy, I really missed it!

My card today is created for the current Hero Arts Challenge – Fabulous Flowers.

I love flowers and couldn’t help inking up some gorgeous floral stamps for this challenge to create this springy thinking of you card.

Supplies: Hero Arts Stamps (Line Dots (CG316), Colour Me Flowers (CG133) & Stitched Frame (CL527)), Tsukineko StazOn Ink (Jet Black), ColorBox Pigment Ink (Frost White), Hero Arts: Hero Hues Folded Cards (Mocha), Hero Arts: Hero Hues Layering Paper (Pine), Bazzill Bling Cardstock (Petty Cash, Spoiled Brat, In The Pink & Diamond), Hero Arts: Hero Hues Mixed Accents (Blush, Floral & Sunshine) and Martha Stewart Crafts Edge Punch (Woodland Branch).

For my card I first stamped my fun new Line Dots cling stamp onto a Mocha Folded Card using Frost White pigment ink. I border punched a strip of green cardstock, cut it down to size and adhered it to the front of my card. I then measured and cut a smaller piece of white cardstock and glued that down to the top of the green border punched piece. I then stamped various flowers onto different coloured cardstock, cut them out and adhered them to the right side of the card and embellished their centres with matching gemstones, before stamping my sentiment onto the opposite side of the white cardstock piece.

I really love the new Line Dots cling. I think it is fast becoming my new favourite background stamp!

Sorry I haven't been around in a little while, it's just been a really busy month this year! We've had something on nearly every weekend and work has been leaving me exhausted at night but I am finally getting around to doing things on my "To Do" list that have been neglected for quite a while!

TD12: Tiffany Doodles May Challenge - Flowers & Happy Mother's Day!

Hi Everyone! I hope you are all enjoying the Saturday so far?! Today it's time for another Tiffany Doodles challenge and this month it's all about flowers which is perfect for Mother's Day Cards!

Supplies: Tiffany Doodles Digital Stamp (Velvet Flower), Hero Arts Stamps (All Occasion Messages (CL272)), Tsukineko StazOn Ink (Jet Black), Cardstock (Kraft & Metallic Pink), White Twine and Kaisercraft Adhesive Rhinestones (Soft Pink).

I chose to use the gorgeous Velvet Flower stamp and made a pretty in pink card for my grandmother for Mother's Day tomorrow.

I printed the image directly onto pink metallic cardstock, cut it out and adhered it to my card base. I then embellished the flower centre and card with adhesive rhinestones.

Big Catch Up Post: Kaisercraft Love

Hi Everyone!

I have a huge catch up post today of some projects I made a while ago, which includes home decor items, some cards and a layout all featuring one of my favourite manufacturers, Australia's very own Kaisercraft!

Before I move onto the projects I just wanted to say a big thank you to all of you for your kind and supportive comments. It really means a lot to me :)

Okay, now onto the fun stuff! This first project I created is a plaque I am going to hang on the door to my craft room. I first painted the phrase with metallic gold acrylic paint then decorated some of the letters using patterned papers, adhesive pearls and some gorgeous paper blooms.

Supplies: Kaisercraft Woodscript Words (Create (W422)), Patterned Paper (Kaisercraft Prairie Lane Collection - Oakwood & Woodshire), Kaisercraft Acrylic Paint (Metallic Gold (KC050)), Kaisercraft Adhesive Pearls (Chocolate (SB792)), Kaisercraft Adhesive Pearl Strip (Latte (PL505)) and Kaisercraft Paper Blooms (Honey (F628)).

Next up is a cute baby boy card I created for a friend using the cute Lullaby 6 x 6 paper pad.

Supplies: White Folded Card, Patterned Paper (Kaisercraft Lullaby Collection), Sentiment (Kaisercraaft Lullaby Collection), Blue Satin Ribbon and Kaisercraft Paper Blooms (Sea Breeze (F631)).

The next two projects are really special to me. I created these before my husband and I got married using photos from our very first holiday together on gorgeous Hamilton Island on Australia's Whitsunday coast. I made one for him and a second one for me and after we moved in together they both now hang together as a set in our home office.

Supplies: Kaisercraft Wood Frames (W105), Kaisercraft Acrylic Paint (Metallic Gold (KC050)), Gold Glitter Spray Paint, Seashells and Clear Beads.

Next up is a scrapbooking page I created with some left over photos I had printed out of our wedding. This page uses some papers from the After Five collection which is absolutely perfect for wedding projects.

I created this next card for my cousin who is having a baby girl in August again using the gorgeous flocked paper from the cute Lullaby collection.

Supplies: White Folded Card, Patterned Paper (Kaisercraft Lullaby Collection), Sentiment (Kaisercraft Lullaby Collection), Kaisercraft Wooden Flourish (Button Flowers (SB731)), Kaisercraft Adhesive Rhinestones (Soft Pink (SB701)), Pink Satin Ribbon and White String.

For this next card I used some gorgeous paper from the Prairie Lane collection along with a cute wooden flourish which tied in perfectly with the blooms on the paper.

Supplies: Hero Arts Folded Card (Powder), Patterned Paper (Prairie Lane Collection - Lacey Bay), Sentiment (Kaisercraft Chanteuse Collection), Kaisercraft Wooden Flourish (Button Flowers (SB731)), Blue Twine and Brown Sheer Ribbon.

For this next card I used the new Chanteuse collection to create this country styled card for my mum for Mother's Day next week.

Supplies: Hero Arts Folded Card (Carnation), Patterned Paper (Kaisercraft Chanteuse Collection), Sentiment (Kaisercraft Chanteuse Collection), Kaisercraft Wooden Flourishes (Padlock (FL333)), Kaisercraft Paper Blooms (Cranberry (F638)) and Pink & White Checkered Ribbon.

Last and certainly not least is another home decor project I created using one of our favourite quotes by Dr Seuss, "When you are in love you cant fall asleep because reality is better than your dreams". This cute plaque now hangs on the wall in my craft room.

Hi Everyone!

Sorry I haven't been around for the past few weeks. I've been dealing with a few health issues lately which have left me feeling really exhausted the last few weeks, making it a struggle create cards for design team requirements as well as for fun.

Because of this I have made the decision to step down from the Wee Memories design team to focus on getting better and to craft more at my own pace.

I want to thank Jenny and all the wonderful girls on the design team for their understanding and support. I enjoyed my time on the team and will definitely be keeping in touch with those talented ladies.

I also wanted to thank you all for your wonderful support and well wishes I have received by email. I am starting to feel a lot better so I hope to be back to posting regularly very soon.

Our theme this week is to create a project using baker's twine. I know it's really early but I decided to create a Thanksgiving card!

Supplies: Hero Arts Stamps (Happy Thanksgiving (CL119)), Tsukineko StazOn Ink (Jet Black), Cardstock (Kraft, Bazzill Bling - Bling & Spoiled Brat and Bazzill Monochromatic - Candle & Glow), Making Memories Slice Design Card (Turkey Daze), Jillibean Soup Cool Beans Buttons (Brown), The Twinery Twine (Cappuccino & Mandarin) and White Twine.

For my card I cut a maple leaf from some kraft cardstock using my Slice Machine and adhered some coloured strips of cardstock to the back before sticking it to my card base. I then wrapped some twine around the base and looped some twine around the buttons to create "flowers".

TD11: Tiffany Doodles April Challenge - Colour Palette

Hi Everyone! Welcome back to another Tiffany Doodles Challenge!

Your challenge this month is to create a card based on the fun colour palette below:

For my card I chose to use the gorgeous Kitty Yarn image. I love cats so I wanted to create something using this adorable image.

Supplies: Tiffany Doodles Digital Stamp (Kitty Yarn), Hero Arts Stamps (Thank You Sayings (CL142)), Tsukineko StazOn Ink (Jet Black), White Folded Card, Cardstock (White), Patterned Paper (Nikki Sivils - Something for Everyone), The Twinery Twine (Carribean), KaiserCraft Adhesive Pearls (Snow), Ranger Glossy Accents and White Machine Stitching.

I printed the kitty image straight onto my patterned paper first before adhering twine to the image to form the ball of yarn. I then paper pieced the cute kitty using plain white cardstock and some patterned paper for its bow. Finally I covered the kitty with Glossy Accents then stamped my sentiment.

Patchwork Birthday Wishes Card

Hi Everyone! I'm popping in today to share another card I made for the current Hero Arts challenge – Love & Friendship, for a friend's birthday I have coming up.

I am so in love with their cling stamps at the moment and I have a few of the background ones in my collection but I wanted to find a way to incorporate them all into the one card and then this idea hit me.

Supplies: Hero Arts Stamps (Flourish Background (CG119), Flower Wallpaper (CG123), Magical Background (CG211), Classic Fabric Design (CG245) & Friends Are Treasures (CG277)), Tsukineko StazOn Ink (Jet Black), Tsukineko Embossing Ink (Clear), American Crafts Zing Embossing Powder (Clear), Cardstock (Kraft), Hero Arts: Hero Hues Folded Cards (Daffodil, Celadon, Carnation & Powder) and White Machine Stitching.

I decided to create a patchwork of stamped cardstock pieces that I could stitch to the front of my card, that way I could use most of my gorgeous Cling background stamps on the one card!

I used different coloured Hero Hues Folded Cards which I cut in half and then clear embossed the background images onto the different coloured cardstock pieces. I then cut the cardstock pieces into different sized triangular shapes before piecing them together on my card base and stitching around each of the edges. I then stamped my sentiment onto the bottom of my card using StazOn ink.

Like the cards in the catalog I also used the beautiful new Congrats set but with my card I paired it with the Classic Fabric Design stamp which I clear embossed onto some layering paper to create my background. I then tied some tulle around the cardstock and embellished it with a heart crystal buckle and a heart stick pin.

For the sentiment I used Hero Arts' Valentine Sayings clear set and cut some letters from some of the different sayings to form both words in my sentiment.

TD09 - Tiffany Doodles February Challenge - Valentine's Day

Hi All!

Today is the 7th day of the month so that means a new Tiffany Doodles challenge! This month's challenge theme is Valentine's Day and with the 14th just around the corner, we would love to see your gorgeous love themed creations!

Supplies: Tiffany Doodles Digistamp Set (Strawberry Hearts), Hero Arts Stamps (Valentine Sayings (CL402)), Tsukineko StazOn Ink (Jet Black), Cardstock (Green, Red & Kraft), Hero Arts: Hero Hues Notecards (Grenadine), Hero Arts Adhesive Pearl Hearts (Red), Ranger Glossy Accents and Red Machine Stitching.

I chose to use the new Strawberry Hearts digistamp set which I printed directly on to green and red cardstock, paper pieced them together then glued them to my card base. I then covered them with glossy accents and embellished the card with adhesive pearl hearts.

There has been a recent change to the prizes for our challenges. This was really quick and simple to put together. I stitched around the edge of the blue cardstock with matching cotton and glued the lady bug die cut to the centre of it. I then stamped my sentiment, added some blue twine to the top and embellished the ladybug's spots with adhesive rhinestones.

I stamped the image three times so I could cut out the middle circle and layer it onto the first one using adhesive foam for dimension. I then coloured the heart with copics and embellished it with adhesive pearls.

Wee Memories Scrappy Saturday Challenge #40 - Free For All!

For my card I decided to do something involving die cutting.

I cut the ladybug image from my cardstock using my Making Memories Slice Machine and then adhered it to some patterned paper. I then stamped the sentiment then machine stitched a border around the image before adhering it to my main card base and then embellished it with adhesive rhinestones.

Moxie Fab World - Bright & Bold Colour Challenge

When I saw this gorgeous bright colour combo over on the Moxie Fab World blog for the Bright & Bold Colour Challenge for Colour Inspiration for Card Makers Week, I just couldn't resist playing along! These colours are so fun and happy!

Here is the card I came up with using the above colours:

Supplies: Hero Arts Stamps (With Sympathy (CL476) & Congrats (CL488)), Tsukineko Emobssing Ink (Clear), American Crafts Zing! Embossing Powder - Opaque Finish (White), Hero Arts: Hero Hues Notecard (Mandarin), Bazzill Basics Orange Peel Cardstock (Pink Fairy), Hero Arts: Hero Hues Mixed Accents (Neutrals) and Black Lace Ribbon.

I heat embossed both the flowers and sentiment using white embossing powder, then embellished the card with some black adhesive rhinestones and blake lace ribbon.

Stylish Blogger Award

Hi Everyone!

Yesterday while I was catching up with some blog reading, I was so very honoured to find that the super sweet Christy over at Christy Gets Crafty, chose me for a Stylish Blogger Award! I totally admire Christy and her cute and inspirational cards so this really made my day :)

This award is such a fun one too because it gives everyone a chance to get to know our blogging friends a little bit more. There are only four rules on accepting this award:

4. Contact those bloggers and tell them about their awards.

So here are 8 things you may or may not know about me:

1. I'm a country girl at heart. Before moving to the city, I spent most of my life growing up in a small country town about 4 hours South West of Perth called Manjimup. Manjimup has recently become famous for being the largest producer of fresh truffles in the entire Southern Hemisphere!

2. I love coffee. My husband and I go out every Saturday and Sunday morning as well as some week nights after work, to different cafes just for a coffee! Our favourite café is about a 20 minute drive away and we go there every single Sunday!

3. I love shopping, especially online shopping for craft supplies. It's is a good thing because it's so much more convenient and cheaper, but it's also a bad thing because I can spend way too much!

4. My favourite season of the year is Winter. I just love the winter weather and the cozy images it portrays. Plus it's the perfect time to stay in doors and craft!

5. Growing up my brother and I had a black Labrador Retriever called Liquorice and he was the sweetest and cuddliest thing ever. We had him for 18 years before he had to be put to sleep because of severe arthritis. My husband and I now have a beautiful kitty cat, Migaloo (Miggy), who we got shortly after we were married.

6. I love stationary! I don't know what it is but take me to an office supplies store or the stationary isle in any place and I can spend hours there! When I was at school I used to love shopping for school supplies!

7. I am a perfectionist. Although if you ask my husband he'll say that I probably have a little OCD! I can't help it. I like everything neat, tidy, well organised and sitting in its specific place. Even in card making, if I make a mistake (although no one can tell) I have to start from scratch again just because I know it's there!

8. My favourite paper crafting magazine is Paper Crafts Magazine. I still have all of my Paper Crafts Magazine issues in my craft room, dating back as early as 2004! Ever since I discovered it, I just haven't been able to part with any issue! I still flick through them every now and then when I've lost my crafting mojo. They are really great for inspiration :)

Wee Memories Scrappy Saturday Challenge #38 - Design With Some Twine

Welcome to the very first Wee Memories Scrappy Saturday Challenge for 2011! We have heaps of really fun challenges coming up so be sure to check back every Saturday and join in the fun!

This Saturday's challenge theme is to design a card or paper project using twine. Baker's twine is very hot at the moment and our sponsor this week, The Twinery, have some really really gorgeous products - I LOVE their twine! The lucky winner for this challenge will get an amazing Twinery Sampler Pack!

For my project this week I decided to make something a little different to a card. I ended up making a candy bar wrapper and napkin ring holder for Valentine's Day (I know, I'm getting in a bit early! Lol!).

Supplies: Hero Arts Stamps (Valentine Sayings (CL402), Tsukineko VersaMagic Chalk Ink (Pink Petunia), Cardstock (White & Metallic Pink), Patterned Paper (American Crafts Romance Collection - Crazy Love), The Twinery Twine (Pink Sorbet), Making Memories Slice Design Card (Basics 1 - Heart), Spellbinders Nestabilities (Labels Fourteen), Cuttlebug Embossing Folder (Swiss Dots) and Ranger Glossy Accents.

For the napkin ring, I cut out two different sized hearts using my Making Memories Slice Machine and adhered some gorgeous Pink Sorbet twine around the edges of them using glossy accents. I then covered the inside of the hearts with glossy accents and once they were dry, adhered them to a kraft cardstock ring.

Tiffany Doodles January Challenge - Sketch Challenge

Hi Everyone! It's the 7th of January so that means its Tiffany Doodles challenge time!

This month's challenge is based on the following sketch created by Jenyfur of Torn Paper.

For my card I decided to use the one of the cute blooms from the DoodleBlooms Vol 1 digital stamp set. I just love this set, the blooms are all so cute!

Supplies: Tiffany Doodles Digistamp (DoodleBlooms Vol 1 Set - Bloom 4), Cardstock (White), Hero Arts: Hero Hues Layering Paper (Blush), Hero Arts Stamps (Thank You Sayings (CL142)), Tsukineko StazOn Ink (Jet Black), Spellbinders Nestabilities (Labels Eight), Copic Sketch Markers, KaiserCraft Adhesive Rhinestones (Soft Pink) and Pink Satin Ribbon.

For my card I decided to turn the sketch sideways and make a thank you card. I coloured the bloom using Copic Sketch Markers and embellished my card with some matching pink adhesive rhinestones.

Hi Everyone!

Just wanted to pop in and wish you all a Happy New Year! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday break.

I've been spending the past two weeks relaxing at home with the hubby and catching up with friends and family and it has been so nice to have such a long break from work etc.

I managed to fit in some craft time yesterday for the first time during the entire break so will be sharing those projects with you over the next few days.
