While it’s hot, humid and crazy outside with a summer thunderstorm today, I thought I would share a birthday card with you all just to break up all the love themed ones I’ve been sharing lately! Don’t worry though, I still have more of those to share with you in the coming days!
Taking a break from creating Valentine’s Day cards, I sat down and created this birthday card using the new Sending and Wishing clear stamp set by Simon Says Stamp that arrived last week with a heap of other crafty fun stuff.
The inspiration for this card came about from the yummy Sprinkles patterned paper in Kaisercraft’s new Pop! collection. When I saw the paper I wanted to use it for a fun birthday card with a raised/dimensional sentiment.
I then wanted to bring the sprinkles from the patterned paper to life by ‘sprinkling’ some colourful enamel dots around the bright sentiment. After I die cut the ‘wishing’ sentiment from the patterned paper, I cut it a number of other times from some plain white cardstock and glued them all together, on top of one another to give the sentiment some height. I then covered it with glossy accents to give it some shine. Hopefully you can make out the shine on the picture below.
I love how this turned out. The effect of the raised sentiment and the colourful dots make for a fun and happy birthday card, without too much else going on around it. I would love to know what you think?
Anyway I hope you are all trying to stay cool in this shocking summer heat, or warm if you are in the middle of winter at the moment. If you are enjoying winter, I would really love to swap you!
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
