The card I’m sharing with you today was a really sad one to make unfortunately. I made this card for one of the sweetest people I know, and a treasured friend, Joy, who sadly lost her beautiful fur baby a few weeks ago.
Our pets are special members of our families, so I wanted to create a card to let her know my love and thoughts are with her during this hard time.
The background was created using some translucent texture paste and the Starry Nights stencil by Memory Box. After I stencilled on the stars I sprinkled them with fine white glitter to give them a bit of sparkle. While the stars were drying I stamped my sentiment onto some vellum using watermark ink before heat embossing it in white.
I don’t have anything in my stash relating to dogs so I used my new Silhouette Cameo machine for the very first time to create the cute puppy. I found the image in the Silhouette Online Store, as well as one for the halo, then I cute the puppy 3 times from different shades of brown cardstock, so that I could assemble the dog with different coloured elements. Here is a close up of the puppy.
Once the puppy was assembled, I glued on some googly eyes and then electronically cut out the gold halo. I then stuck all the elements onto the starry background panel, before gluing that down to my card base.
It’s time for me to go and grab some lunch, but thank you for stopping by today.
